Adding Music and Pictures to iMovie

by Megan, studio assistant
While making your videos in iMovie, you may feel that you need something extra added to your project; or maybe you don’t want to use video and you would just like to make a movie using pictures and music (stop-motion anyone?). So here is how you can add music and pictures to your iMovie project.

To add music to your project you can simply click File>Import, then locate the audio you wish to add. Also, to make it easier on you, you may want to have your “playhead” (the marker that shows where you are in the video) positioned where you want the music to start.
To import photos into iMovie, you can also use the File>Import option, but there are other ways. Another way to add photos to your iMovie project is to click the camera button on the right hand side of the application.

Then a panel will be brought up below the button which lists folders you can pick pictures from.

Choose the folder where your pictures are located. Then click on the picture you want, and drag it into your video timeline.
Adding music and photos to your iMovie project is quick and simple, but it can have a great effect on what you’re making! Good luck on your iMovie project!
