Look here for Copyright and Royalty Free Video, Pictures and Music

Want to use some music, sound effects, video or pictures in your presentation?  Sure you do, but you need to make sure you are using them in a way that complies with Copyright laws and Fair Use.   In the DMS, we won't let you use our equipment to create presentations if you are violating copyright.  And the University takes a hard line against it as well.   The idea that taking images and music (even music you own) and putting it them in a academic presentation is allowed, is a bit of a myth.  Even presentations for classroom use only must comply with the law and it can pretty overwhelming to keep it all straight.  We have tried to make it simple by linking to Copyright and Royalty Free resources for Audio, Pictures and Video on our website.  Here you can find and use (every site has different rules for citing material so pay attention) music, video and pictures and still be right with the law.   Have questions about Copyright and Fair Use?  We have included some painless explanations on our Media Sources page.  You can also ask at the Studio Desk.      So visit here now to avoid trouble later.
